Non contact measurement of electrical conductivity of metallic coating
Measuring the electrical conductivity of a metal deposit has always been a difficult task. The reference method is that of Van der Pauw, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_der_Pauw_method.
This method requires the installation of the electrodes. This is a delicate operation. Poor contact between the electrodes and the coating under test is a major source of error.
We can dream of eliminating the contacts to have more precision and especially to go faster: Sciensoria did it!
Sciensoria’s Z-Scope * vn2k20 based electrical conductivity measurement system enables on-the-fly electrical conductivity measurements. See this video: https://youtu.be/bE1dqmI6aOo
This product is intended for manufacturers and research institutes working on innovative materials, such as carbon composites whose surface is metallized to ensure electromagnetic protection of the product.
Note: the WinEC ™ software now allows the control of a 3-axis probe positioning system which is a very valuable tool for precision operations.
