Measurement of water level in an immersed container
Measurement of water level in an immersed container
The “Fish” probe designed by Sciensoria can sense the water level inside a container from the outside. Both the probe and the container are immersed into water. The containers not only contain water, but also filled with small steel nails. A probe is placed outside of the container. It is also immerged in water. It can measure the quantity of water inside the container. The output signal rises and falls with water inflows and outflows. This experiment shows it is possible to measure the water contamination of a container with material inside. There may be different possible applications, for example: detection of leakage of a container or measure the permeability of a material immersed in water, e.g. concrete.
